RBC's Take your career to the next level
On Wednesday September 4th, LAMBA members and special guests had the privilege to receive valuable insights from successful executives on how to take their careers to the next level.
During registration, RBC’s art curator Robin Anthony delighted guests with walking tours of the bank's private art collection. Participants admired different art pieces exposed in RBC's executive floor - a series that included oil & watercolour paintings, sculptures, photos and looped video artwork - and were presented with a description of each piece and a brief background on featured artists.
The evening started with a few cocktails at the bar and followed up with a short introduction by Emiliano Mendez, LAMBA's VP Sponsorships & Partnerships and MC for the evening. Emiliano introduced a selected panel of high-profile executives, which included:
- Lucila Branco, Regional Vice President, International Private Banking, RBC Wealth Management
- Caroline Cole, Chief Human Resources Officer of Canadian HR Solutions
- Scott Vance, Chief Operating Officer, Global Quality and Risk Manager, KPMG International
Emiliano started the session with 3 rounds of questions to our guest panelists. As soon as the panel started there was an immediate reaction as the room came to silence reflecting the audience's interest in hearing our expert panel share their career insights and experiences. Guests took away numerous insights including interview tips, unwritten rules for career advancement, how to get noticed in the organization, professional organic growth, and a summary of the top skills that successful Senior Executives have in common.
By the end of the presentation, our members had the opportunity to network, interact with recruiters from RBC, and have one-on-one conversations with each of our guest speakers.
RBC was the official sponsor of this career development event that included close to 100 guests. LAMBA will continue to organize professional high-caliber events as well as other career and networking activities for LAMBA members while continuing to strengthen its ties with the Canadian business sector.
We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
