HOW TO SUCCEED IN THE POST-MBA WORLD
On Monday March 26th, LAMBA the Latin American MBA Alumni Network presented “How to succeed in the post MBA world” event in Toronto – Highlighting key aspects of the Canadian Corporate culture.
The event, sponsored by CIBC, took place at the 56th floor of their head office in Toronto. The forum counted with the participation of more than 100 MBAs, providing a great opportunity for candidates and graduates to hear about the Canadian corporate culture, make valuable connections while networking, and get exposure to human-resource executives from some of Canada’s top employers.
Matt Petersen, Senior Director, Diversity Strategies & Workplace Inclusion, served as moderator to a panel of successful professionals from diverse industries, including:
- Alexandre Penha, General Manager, Corporate Development, Rio Novo Gold Inc.
- Julieta Pineda, Director, McDonald’s in WalMart, McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada
- Martin Lainez, Brand & Product Marketing, Visa
- Patrick Grieve, Sr. Manager of Talent Attraction and Shared Services, KPMG Canada
- Sharon Wingfelder, VP Human Resources, CIBC
Panelists answered to Mr. Petersen’s questions and shared their opinions on relevant topics as: Canadian corporate environment, the importance of diversity in the workplace, and strategies to successfully enter in Canada's job market as an MBA.
After the forum, the night continued with a presentation of the Toronto 2015 Pan Am/ ParaPan Games. Attendees learned of new business, employment, and volunteer opportunities directly from Catherine J. Stewart, Director of Human Resources.
The event concluded with a networking session among all guests, including the panelists.
