LAMBA's First Summer Event

Business networking; the Latin American way: LAMBA's First Summer Event; a total Success!

Enjoying a spectacular view of the Lake Ontario while sipping a delicious Mojito or Caipirinha; this is the way - the Latin-American way - networking was done at LAMBA's First Summer event. And it proved to be a successful way!

The Radisson Hotel Admiral Toronto - at Toronto's Waterfront- was the chosen venue to host our very first Summer Event, graciously sponsored by Scotiabank.

The response was very successful and more than 100 guests attended the event; representing different companies including: TD Bank, RBC, CIBC, Nestle, GSK, Scotiabank, Cisco, IBM, Maple Leaf Foods, Pepsico, HSBC, among others. They all chatted, caught up with colleagues and friends and meet new ones as well. We also had the presence of VIP guests such as Ahmad Dajani, Vice-president of Multicultural Banking at Scotiabank.

During the event, Fabiola Sicard; Senior Manager Multicultural Banking at Scotiabank and Victor Olvera, President of LAMBA; shared a few words welcoming our guests, inviting them to enjoy and highlighting LAMBA's role in making these types of events happen: "We just would like to share with you how proud we are to sponsor LAMBA" – Fabiola Sicard said- "Scotiabank was the first company to come on board and support LAMBA and we did it for two reasons: first, we believe in LAMBA's mission..And we believe that creating a network with the purpose of connecting the pool of talent that newcomers bring to this country with Canadian corporations will benefit all, LAMBA members, corporations and Canada as a whole."

The event went from 6:00 to 9:30 pm; the weather cooperated and we enjoyed a sunny day with excellent temperature. Excellent ad-hoc background music such as Bajofondo Tango Club –selected by event organizer Mayra Lugo- enhanced the ambiance and gave a nice touch to the evening.

Latin-American inspired dishes such as Empanadas and Ceviche- prepared by Chef Romel Griarte were a success, as the typical Latin-American drinks served; Mojitos, Caipirinhas and of course Tequila!

After a very enjoyable evening, attendees left the event with a parting gift courtesy of Scotiabank and BOLD Magazine.
